A religious city in southern Iraq, where Imam Ali bin Abi Talib is the Prophet Muhammad’s cousin and the fourth Rightly-Guided Khaliph after the Prophet Muhammad. Najaf is home to the world’s largest cemetery, Wadi al-Salam, which is located next to Imam Ali’s shrine, as well as many historical and heritage sites and popular markets.
