According to the Iraqi constitution, it is an Arab country and a federal parliamentary republic. It is divided into eighteen governorates. The Republic of Iraq’s population is expected to be around 40 million by 2020.

Iraq is a diverse country, with mountains, valleys, and forests as well as hills, the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and arid deserts. It was here that the first civilizations arose, such as Sumer and Assyria. Natural marshes exist in southern Iraq, providing a natural habitat for animals found nowhere else on the planet. Ur, Nimrud, Nippur, Isin, Babylon, Nineveh, Uruk are the oldest human civilizations in Iraq. Iraq has over 12,000 archaeological sites, including antiquities dating back to different eras.
